Wood Carving Classes

Instead of staying at home hunched up over that keyboard why not come out and do something new and interesting? Wood carving for instance. Our new term starts next week and we meet every Wednesday at 7.30pm in the village hall. Everybody is welcome, whether beginner or expert. Admission is £1 or free for Senior Citizens and the unwaged. All proceeds will go to the Church Roof Restoration Fund.
The vicar's daughter, Jenny, has once again kindly consented to be our model. We all love Jenny, a delightful person with a wonderful outgoing personality - a real inspiration to young and old. And thanks again to all the local businesses who have helped to sponsor our endeavours. Here's Jenny!

To show what can be done we are proud to show you a woodcarving produced last year by our star pupil Grinling Gibbons. Made of a solid block of well seasoned mahoganny this life sized masterpiece has been much admired by one and all and won two big prizes in last year's village fete. Congratulations Grinling!

A masterpiece in polished mahoggany
